Waffles & Peaches

I decided to make waffles for breakfast today.  I usually like really simple breakfasts, because I don’t feel like doing a lot of cooking/work before actually eating in the morning.  However, when I mentioned making eggs, Bogdan asked for pancakes.  I really didn’t feel like pancakes, so we settled on waffles.

I got a waffle iron for my bridal shower, but I had not used it yet.

I pulled out my mom’s tried-and-true-waffle-recipe-of-champions and whipped them up.  I was eager to share it on here!  Yet I have no need, because I discovered that it’s already on Tammy’s Recipes. 🙂 Here it is.

Of course, I again used my maple syrup from Amish country!  I am going through that pint all too quickly.

We just used the last of our fresh peaches, which we had gotten at Aldi last week.  We paid $1.99 for two pounds.  I wish I had gotten more, because they were so amazing!  It’s hard to tell with peaches, though, because they have the potential to be disgusting and you don’t know until they get ripe a while after you buy them when it’s usually too late to get more at the same price if they’re good.

About recipeshappen

I'm Bonnie. I'm a pharmacy technician and new wife to Bogdan. I love cooking, usually without recipes. I love good sales and coupons, but haven't quite figured out the best way to find them. I make the typical new-wife mistakes and have burned my share of cookies. I like a cold house and a hot shower all year long.

Wow! That looks yuumy! Great presenatation Bonnie. I love this pic. That would make anyone hungry. I need to check out Tammy’s link for your mom’s recipe. And you are so right about fresh fruit….. you never know. I’m glad they were good. You are really on a roll with this cooking. I love it. You inspire me. Keep sharing the pics and recipes. Have a great weekend you two! We are heading for temps in the 3 digits…. not good cooking weather.

    • Thanks for the nice comment, Lin 🙂

The temperature is the same here – not fun! So glad for the A/C and pool… counting down the minutes until the pool opens today. LOL.

I am hoping Aldi has more of the peaches at that same price, but probably not. It’d be too much to hope for 🙂
