I decided it was a taco night.
– No tomatoes
– No salsa
– No Tapatio
– No Taco Seasoning mix, or cumin (I like my taco meat spicy, I kind of felt like I needed one or the other)
– Only two tortillas (and didn’t feel like making any)
I decided to brave it anyway, and pulled some ground chuck out of the freezer. I’ve gotten some good sales on ground chuck lately.
First, this is what I put in my ground beef while it was frying:
– 1/2 onion, chopped
– Salt & pepper
– Dried parsley
– Crushed red pepper
– Granulated garlic
– Beef bouillon
– Water & flour, shaken together to prevent lumps – probably about 1/3 cup water and 2 tablespoons flour
Of course, I also drained the excess grease before I added the flour and water. I have to say that the meat was really delicious. Bogdan used the two tortillas we had, and I had my “tacos” on my plate , thus “taco salad.”
– Tortilla chips
– Cheddar cheese, shredded
– Lettuce (unfortunately, the only kind I had was that prepared kind with the incredibly fragrant purple cabbage and carrots)
– Sour cream
It was good, but I missed the tomatoes and hot sauce. 🙂 I would recommend the meat spices!
